India Collar 100% Organic Hemp Shirt

The Tranquility India Collar Hemp Shirt features a classic India collar (it's seamed to stand up as a button-free banded collar with a V slit) that does quite well in dressy situations. Roomy but not baggy. It substitutes for regular shirts for those needing to wear shirts for work but who are looking for a more gentle, alternative look. Excellent for casual or dressy wear, plus meditation and Tai Chi.

The Tranquility Hemp Shirt is not made in a factory (so it is sweatshop-free): instead, it's made by sew-at-home Thai artisans in their 50's and 60's who get to stay home with their families and earn higher-than-average income. Note: there is no word for hemp in their language (in contradistinction to the regulated substance) so the label says linen for the linen construction of the hemp fabric.

Note: Current shipment of the Tranquility Hemp Shirt is made at the Rawganique Atelier in Europe. The measurements provided are for the European production. We have some stock left from the previous Thai Artisanal production, too, which is cut a little smaller.

Behind the name of the India Collar Tranquility Hemp Shirt: Tranquility means different things to different people... It could be birds singing in the canopy of 1000-year-old cedar trees, the sound of water rushing over rocks in a meandering creek, warm light filtering through deciduous trees in the heat of summer, verdant forests and snow-capped mountain peaks as far as the eye can see. All of these and more are perfect in their tranquility because they are part of the natural world: vast and infinite, yet abundantly sustainable.
